IS 93 Beacon After-School Program
The IS 93 Beacon
After-school program is a safe haven for neighborhood youth and
their families. We offer a wide range of comprehensive and
multifaceted programs for both children and adults within the
community. The Beacon After-school program provides services to over
1,200 people from the five boroughs annually.
The after-school program
is staffed by teachers, activity specialists, and other support
staff. The program offers opportunities for children and adults to
express themselves through positive outlets such as community
service projects, volunteering, arts programs, leisure activities
and vocational endeavors. The program provides educational support,
job-readiness skills, sporting leagues and clinics, drama groups,
trips and many other services.
The Beacon program
operates Monday-Friday from 2:20pm-9:00pm and Saturday from
10:00am-3:00pm. The Beacon program is also opened most holidays
during school closings.
The Beacon program also
offers a summer camp program from July-August. The summer camp
enrolls one hundred children ages 6-13 years old. The summer camp
provides educational and recreational activities culminating in an
end of summer show. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily.
